Seminar : Big Data and Life By Dr. Adam Lee

We are very pleased to announce that we will be holding a seminar on “Big Data and Life” led by our very own Professor Adam Lee (Elina’s dad) and invite all students, parents and senseis to attend.  Professor Adam Lee is a member of the Information System faculty at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business (http://www.rhsmith.umd.edu/directory/woei-jyh-adam-lee).
 
The seminar will be split between two Friday nights after regular practice, the details are as below :

Information is an indispensable part of our lives. The information technology has tremendous impacts on our lifestyle.  It has been applied to smart phones, smart appliances, electronic tickets, distance learning and many more.  The more applications of information, the more data have been generated.  It has brought us into the era of the big data.  Big data is changing our lives as well as business models.  From personal computers and mobile devices, Internet to cloud computing, how does information technology and big data relate to our lives?  How to use big data to perform more accurate predictions and to make better decision?  How to apply big data to enjoy a more convenient and more comfortable life?
